Wonderful vintage engagement ring with center ~2.43ct pink tourmaline and tapered baguette diamonds on each side.
Tourmaline is a pleochroic gem, so you can sometimes see more that one color depending on the orientation of the stone as you view it. This tourmaline usually looks pink, but sometimes certain angles will show you a peachy, almost orange-ish flash of color. I couldn’t capture the second color in a photograph, but it’s fun when it shows itself. It’s easiest to see with a microscope.
Tourmaline is the birthstone for October.
