SOLD - Antique Memento Mori, Georgian Mourning Ring, 18k gold with black enamel and original hexagonal shaped crystal stone. This mourning ring was for William Screven. He died May 2, 1756, at the age of 52. These mourning rings were given as a remembrance to family members and very close friends. Inside the ring is the foreboding message from William, "Prepare to follow". (see all the pics)
The ring is size ~12. It is in very good condition for its age, with slight wear on some enamel. The original crystal has chips, see pictures for details. It's hard to see without examining it closely.

This ring would also look great worn as a pendant on a silk cord around your neck. Talk about an unusual conversation starter! This is is!
